Recovery coaching
Recovery coaching services are non-clinical supports provided by Idaho-certified recovery coaches for members age 18 and older with a primary diagnosis of a substance use condition. Recovery coaches use their lived experience to support members navigating substance use challenges, overcoming barriers in their recovery journey, and building natural supports in the community. Providers must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have personal lived experience in recovery, and hold a peer recovery coach or provisional peer recovery coach certification issued by the Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification. Find training information at idahorca.com/trainings.
Family peer support
Family peer support services are non-clinical services provided by an Idaho-certified family support partner for parents and caregivers supporting a youth or young adult age 21 or younger with serious emotional disturbance (SED), a mental health condition or co-occurring conditions. For members ages 18–21, services must be approved through the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) process. Family support partners use their lived experience to help caregivers navigate challenges, address barriers and strengthen natural supports for their family. Providers must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have lived experience caring for a child with a mental health or co-occurring condition, and hold a family support partner certification issued by BPA Health. Youth peer support
Youth peer support services are non-clinical supports provided by an Idaho-certified peer support specialist who has completed Idaho youth support training. These services support members ages 12–17 with SED, a mental health condition or co-occurring conditions. Youth peer support specialists use their lived experience to connect with youth, help them navigate challenges and build natural supports in their communities. Providers must be 18 or older (ages 18–35 recommended), have a high school diploma or equivalent, have lived experience with a mental health or co-occurring condition during their youth, hold a peer support specialist certification issued by BPA Health, and complete youth support training to receive the youth support endorsement.
